On Friday, November 15, 2019, the centenary celebration of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture was organized in Lauba. The celebration was attended by 600 guests from the FSB, academia, partners and businessmen. The FSB monograph was also published, presenting the Centre of Technology Transfer.

On Thursday, November 14th 2019, the Projects Day and Match-Making was organized by the FSB and CTT. A number of businessmen and FSB researchers participated in the event. Through the lectures, the businessmen had the opportunity to hear more about the EU projects being carried out at the faculty, and during the match-making they exchanged ideas with the researchers who can contribute by solving specific engineering problems through joint projects.

On Wednesday, November 13th 2019, Hack the Future workshop was held to commemorate the FSB100. The workshop was organized by professor Marijanović and mentors from the Danish faculty (Anja Maier and Tim Mcaloone). Students from FSB, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Faculty of Political Science, Faculty of Economics and Business, Business School Algebra, CTT, selected academics, alumni from business and industry and government representatives participated in the workshop. Together we had the opportunity to learn more about global mega trends, and later in the groups we came up with innovative solutions for a better future.

On Wednesday, October 30th 2019, the Invest smart - Boost Innovation in Croatia conference was held at the Westin Hotel. The conference featured thematic presentations - Encouraging Innovation to Succeed. The presentations featured numerous innovations in the fields of medicine and robotics and the practices of other countries, such as Israel, on the role of government in the development of innovation. Also, we had the opportunity to attend B2B Matchmaking meetings.

Prof. dr. sc. Bojan Jerbić from the Department of Robotics and Automation of Production Systems at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb gave an interview to HAMAG-BICRO. The professor spoke about the RONNA and NERO projects, robotics in medicine and incentives that helped them in realization of the projects. See the entire interview on the YouTube channel.

CTT and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture organized a seminar on Hydrogen and Fuel Cells which was held on September 17th.  Seminar coordinator was dr. sc. Ankica Kovač. The seminar was also attended by Toyota Croatia CEO Krešimir Bago who spoke about hydrogen technologies in transportation. The seminar also presented the Croatia Mirai Challenge and the Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Car.

On Monday, September 16th 2019, Croatia Mirai Challenge Conference was held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. The conference featured the introduction of a multi-production hydrogen car (Toyota Mirai) currently traveling across European countries where hydrogen filling stations are installed. The car left Zagreb and the journey ends in Brussels. Panel members of the conference were doc. dr. sc. Ankica Kovač, Director of Toyota Croatia Krešimir Bago, Head of city department for Economy, Energy and Environmental Protection Mirka Jozić and dr. sc. Zvonimir Guzović. Hydrogen vehicles and their future in Croatia were discussed on the conference.

Director spoke about technology transfer from FSB into economy, the competitiveness of Croatian products on the international market, technology transfer centers and incubators, and their purpose. Rimac Automobili delegation visited the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture of the University of Zagreb, elevating collaboration between the academic community and industry to a higher level. At the head of the delegation was Mate Rimac, who along with his team of engineers and head of departments visited 12 FSB's laboratories. With cooperation of this type, FSB ensures continuity in higher education and capability of tracking rapid technological development in the most demanding industries.

On July 10th 2019, in the Esplanade Hotel, as part of the celebration of the 163th anniversary of the birth of Nikola Tesla, "Nikola Tesla - Genius for the Future" annual award was awarded. In the category "Creative and innovative product inspired by the image and work of Nikola Tesla" DAVOR ŠIRINIĆ, student of Mechatronics and robotics was awarded for the "Bionic Hand" work.

At the ceremony, the award was taken over by the mentor of the work prof. dr. sc. Željko Šitum.

On Wednesday, July 10th 2019, a meeting of the Croatian Department for Pressure Equipment at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture was held. The meeting discussed the inclusion of the Croatian Pressure Equipment Section in Croatia, an expert-scientific association for energy, mechanical engineering and renewable energy sources, the selection of the short section system, the section's work program and a review of the 16th Croatian Pressure Equipment Seminar.

On Friday, July 5th 2019, the first meeting of the FSB's Economic Council was held and it featured 28 reputable companies. The goals of establishing the Economic Council are to improve study programs, cooperation with the economy through scientific-research projects, lifelong education, and develop research infrastructure. All members of the Council commended this initiative and expressed their willingness to actively participate in further work as they see this as a mechanism for maintaining high quality of their own experts and staffs that the Faculty has been continuously producing for the labour market for a whole century.

FSB racing team is a project by FSB students that is funded by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture and private companies from Croatia. Formula is currently in the final stages and will soon be ready for test driving. GlobalLogic Engineers will provide Croatian students with consultancy support for software design. Guest from Hungary, Dr. Laszlo Molnar also participated in the seminar and spoke about the Mechanical simulation overview in ANSYS world.

On May 4th, the largest exhibition of young innovators in Croatia was held at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture. The aim of INOVA is to bring together middle school students, high school students and college students and give them the opportunity to present their innovations through this exhibition. This year's INOVA has marked a record number of 400 exhibited works. All the participants of the exhibition received acknowledgments and the best ones were awarded with numerous awards.

This year's B2B Matchmaking (Interreg Italy-Croatia) was held in Venice on March 11th. On the event, innovation opportunities in the blue economy were discussed and participants had the opportunity to present their company, where CTT also participated. Through speed networking we had the opportunity to hear interesting experiences and meet potential partners.

CTT was today visited by Sofija Tomić and Dr. Petra Karanikić, Head of the University of Rijeka's Technology Transfer Office. The University of Rijeka is implementing BEAT - Blue Enhancement Action for Technology Transfer project financed from the Interreg Italy-Croatia program. The aim of the project is to strengthen the innovation process and cooperation among SMEs, clusters, research centers and shipbuilding and maritime sector universities in Croatia and Italy.

Prof. dr. sc. Bojan Jerbić was featured in the show "People That Make a Difference" on MrežaTV in which, among other things, he talked about the projects and innovations that his team devised and carried out at the Department of Robotics and Automation of Production Systems. He mentioned FSB projects NERO and CRTA, as well as the neurosurgical robot of 4th and 5th generation - RONNA, which is being developed together with Clinical Hospital Dubrava.
