Course objectives:
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the technical, economic and regulatory aspects of offshore wind farms. Students will be provided with an insight into the most important steps in the development of offshore wind farm projects, their implementation, and integration into the power system. Within the course, students will be provided with the latest knowledge about the offshore wind farm sector and practical experiences from the real environment.
Student responsibilities:
Regular attendance at lectures and auditory exercises. Active participation in lectures and exercises.
Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam:
Homework 15%, Colloquium 30%, Seminar paper 25%, Final exam (oral defense and presentation of independent work) 30%.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes):
1 . Identify the basic methods of developing offshore wind farm projects.
2 . Describe the procedure and interpret the legal framework for the development of offshore wind farm projects.
3 . Recognize the interaction of different technical disciplines during the development of offshore wind farms.
4 . Analyze and evaluate solutions and calculations of offshore wind farm development projects according to selected criteria.
5 . Assess and discuss the basic technical and economic measures for the implementation of offshore wind farms.
6 . Analyze the coordination of implementation activities at sea and their time constraints.
7 . Apply computer tools and other advanced techniques for modeling the integration of offshore wind farms.
8 . Independently formulate solutions to practical problems in industry by applying theoretical knowledge.
