Course objectives:
Understanding the concepts of sustainable production and green supply chains. Introduction to concepts, models, methods, directives and standards related to sustainability. Understanding of methods for environmental impact assessment and sustainability measurement index. Application of LCA analysis and its connection with circular economy.
Student responsibilities:
Regular class attendance. Seminar submission and presentation.
Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam:
Written and presented seminar paper 50 %. Two mid-term tests each 25% or written exam 50%.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes):
1 . Recognize the importance of sustainability in production and supply chains.
2 . Recognize the difference between concepts, models, methods, directives and standards related to sustainability.
3 . Apply the method for environmental impact assessment.
4 . Define and calculate sustainability measurement indicators.
5 . Apply a software solution to perform LCA analysis.
6 . Apply circular economy and recognize eco-labels.
