Course objectives:
Familiarize the students of all study fields with plastics packaging manufacturing procedures.
Student responsibilities:
Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam:
Colloquiums or written exam - 70% Homework - 20% Oral exam - 10%
Methods of monitoring quality that ensure acquisition of exit competences:
The results of the tasks and colloquies comment with students. The interaction with students during class (asking questions) is checked understanding the material and the acquisition of competencies and skills in accordance with the learning outcomes.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes):
After successful completion of the course, a student will be able to: - Define basic types of thermoplastics for packaging applications - Group types of biopolymers with respect to source raw materials and biodegradability - Describe the basic procedures of plastic packaging manufacturing - Identify the method of manufacturing plastic packaging on a concrete example - Recommend the type of packaging materials with respect to the requirements of content that will be packaged - Select a method of manufacturing plastic packaging.
