- Acquire knowledge of small craft design principles. Small craft comprise craft with one or more hulls, made of wood, composite or metal, sailing in displacement, semi displacement or planing mode, propelled by all sorts of propellers, water jets or sails, intended for the recreation, passenger transport, fishing, search and rescue, research, workboats, etc.
- Student responsibilities:
- Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam:
- Evaluated seminar task
- Methods of monitoring quality that ensure acquisition of exit competences:
- Students individually work on semonar work. Results are commented with the students. By interaction with the students during lectures, by asking questions, the continuity of the comprehension of teaching content is checked and so as acquisition of competencies and skills in accordance with the learning outcomes.
- Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (learning outcomes):
- Distinguish the types of small vessels. Participate in the work on the project of a small vessel. Analyze the characteristics of existing small vessels. Assess the characteristics of future vessel in preliminary stage. Analyze and compile a technical description of a small vessel. Design a general plan of a small ship.
