AI is talked about everywhere, but the narratives are usually exaggerated to the positive or negative. The depictions are largely exaggerated, unsettling and lead to a rejection of the topic. We would now like to invite you to take a critical look at the fears that have been stirred up about the impact of AI on society.

To this end, we are organizing an Ideathon on January 13 and 14, 2024 on the topic of "Bridging the Gap - Critical Questions for AI" with prize money of €1000 for each challenge. Participation is possible both digitally and on site at the Hasso Plattner Institute in Potsdam, Germany, and you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other interested parties from all over Europe.

An Ideathon is about your idea - you don't have to implement a final solution yet and this format is explicitly aimed at non-computer scientists to the same extent. Only together can we find a social approach!

In the first challenge, you have the opportunity to deal with social aspects such as changes in the labor market or in democracy. The second challenge is about creatively exploring how these topics can be technically communicated to people by personalizing a model.

You can take part in teams of 3-5 people. If you don't have a team yet, we will find people for you who want to work on the same challenge and the same social impact. There is a prize money of 1000€ for each challenge. If a lack of prior knowledge is holding you back, just take a look at the resources on the website, which will be added soon.
