On behalf of the Organizing Committee and the Scientific Committee, it is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 16th International Conference on New Trends in Fatigue and Fracture (NT2F16) to be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia, from 24th to 27th May 2016.
NT2F16 continues the tradition of very successful NT2F conference series established in 2001. Since then the conference is held every year and it is one of the major conferences in the field of fatigue, fracture and structural integrity and reliability, an area of utmost scientific and technological importance.
The objective of the NT2F16 conference is to bring together scientists and engineers from around the world to discuss how to characterize, analyze, predict and asses the fatigue and fracture of structural materials and components. The NT2F16 intends to be a forum for discussion of the present and future trends in experimental, analytical and numerical fracture mechanics, fatigue, structural integrity assessment, failure analysis, and other important topics in the field. Special focus will be given on multi-scale and multi-physics approaches, applications to new materials and environmental effects.
The delegates of the NT2F16 conference will have the opportunity to interact and exchange ideas with leading researchers across a wide range of disciplines, and get acquainted with the state of the art in the theory and applications of fatigue and fracture mechanics. The NT2F16 conference will further promote cooperation among scientists and experts from university, industry and government involved in the field of the fatigue and fracture of materials and structures. A two-day School on fatigue and fracture modeling and analysis will be organized prior to the Conference, along with a roundtable discussion on the topic how to teach fracture mechanics in the future.
Besides the excellent technical program, participants will have the opportunity to enjoy their stay in Dubrovnik, one of the most famous Mediterranean cities, world celebrated symbol of historical heritage and beauty, which has found its place in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Welcome to Dubrovnik, one of the most beautiful cities in the world, a city that features stunning architecture and a vibrant cultural life, with historical landmarks and untouched natural resources.
