- Introduction to materials and joints in shipbuilding, structural elements of the hull in the cargo space of different types of ships. Identify and name the structural elements of the hull. Explain the function of individual construction elements. Apply the technical rules of classification societies in calculate structural elements through an individual project.

- Grading and evaluation of student work over the course of instruction and at a final exam:
- Occasional written knowledge checks, evaluation of drafted project/seminar, through oral exam.
