Sažetak

Within the scope of the Mission “Restore our Ocean and Waters”9, SWIM’s ultimate goal is to restore, protect, and enhance the habitats of migratory fish species in the Danube River Basin and the NW Black Sea region, by developing and implementing innovative, sustainable, and scalable solutions that improve habitat connectivity, water quality, and overall ecosystem health. The project seeks to set new benchmarks in habitat restoration, contribute significantly to the implementation of EU environmental policies, and foster transnational cooperation among stakeholders. Ultimately, SWIM aspires to ensure the long-term sustainability of migratory fish populations and the aquatic ecosystems they depend on, thereby supporting biodiversity conservation, ecological resilience, and the socio-economic well-being of communities in the region.
