EUNIS 2011 Call for Papers

Call for Papers

EUNIS 2011 is the 17th Congress in a series of conferences within the framework of the European University Information Systems organisation (EUNIS). These congresses are international events that attract a large audience from Higher Education Institutions. It is a chance for international specialists, users, researchers, decision-makers and academic teachers from all over Europe and further afield to share their experiences. Moreover, it is a very excellent to present and publish the latest results of research, investigations and deployment concerning Information Technology in Higher Education Institutions.

EUNIS 2011 Congress's themes include but are not limited to:

• Research Computing
• Green IT
• Shared Services
• Cloud Computing
• Software as a Service
• Consurmerisation of technology
• Environmental Sustainable Organisations
• IT Strategy, Governance and e-Administration
• IT infrastructure and integrated systems
• Technical and legal aspects of security
• Global networks, partnerships, and exchanges
• E-science, virtual libraries, virtual laboratories
• E-learning and mobile learning, virtual and distance education
• Advanced technologies and multimedia for learning and teaching
• Web 2.0 and social networking at the university
• Open software, content, access, innovation, standards

You are invited to make a submission in one of the following tracks:

1. Scientific - research results in the themes of the Congress.
2. Technological - presentations covering technological aspects of the use of IT in Higher Education Institutions.
3. Good practices - examples of applications and deployments of modern technological solutions to the Higher Education Institutions practices.

The submission for the scientific track should contain both the extended abstract and the full paper.

The submission for the Technological and Good practices tracks may contain an extended abstract only. If the authors apply for publishing the paper in the EUNIS 2011 Online Congress Proceedings the submission should contain the full paper also.

All submitted papers/abstracts will go through reviewing processes carried out by the Program Committee (at least two reviewers for each paper/abstract). The reviews will support the selection process of those papers/abstracts that will be accepted for their presentation at the Congress as well as the papers approved to their publication in the official EUNIS 2011 Online Congress Proceedings.

All accepted abstracts from all the tracks will be published in the Online Congress Abstracts.

Extended abstracts should be no more than 2 pages and full papers a maximum of12 pages.

All accepted papers must be presented at the congress by one of the authors. The paper will only be scheduled into the programme when the speaker registers for the congress.

All sessions may be recorded and broadcast in a podcast format or may be streamed live. Submission of a paper/abstract implies agreement that the session may be recorded, broadcast and stored for the purposes of the EUNIS congress.

Suitable papers may be eligible for the EUNIS Jens Dørup E-Learning Award

The EUNIS Dørup E-learning Award was founded by the EUNIS Board in commemoration of former member of the EUNIS Board of Directors, Jens Dørup. The award is given for the outstanding and innovative application of information technology (IT) in an educational setting in higher education.
