Center for Technology Transfer d.o.o. is a company founded in 1996 by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, University of Zagreb, with the support of the Ministry of Science and consulting from the German Fraunhofer Institute.
CTT's strategic purpose is to connect science and the economy, to enhance the competitiveness of Croatian industry and to strengthen the role of the FSB in this process. Using numerous laboratories and state-of-the-art equipment, scientists and experts from the FSB and the University connect industry with new knowledge and technologies, thus improving the competitiveness of innovative companies in their match on the European and global markets.
As a support institution for FSB's R&D activity, CTT works on transfering the findings and results of scientific research, ideas and inventions "from the laboratory" to the market.
CTT also has its' projects and it offers professional, technical and educational assistance to create a favorable environment for the emergence of innovation and the development of entrepreneurship. CTT runs ongoing education for attendants in subjects related to the economy. The goals are manifold: disseminating the latest scientific achievements to businessmen, generating ideas for joint projects, and exchanging information for refreshing and improving the teaching process based on concrete examples from the economy.
Incubation and Acceleration of Entrepreneurial Ideas
Incubation is intended for new compoanies which were created due to FSB's cooperation with the economy. Start-ups and spin-off companies are assisted with infrastructure, professional and organizational support in networking, identifying sources of financing for R&D projects, consulting and administrative services, and in particular education and development of entrepreneurial competencies. The placement of incubators within the faculty space is necessary to maintain the research atmosphere for enterprises in the innovation phase because their first three years of existence are critical for achieving self-sustainability.
Student incubator operates in the co-working space on FSB. All physical infrastructure, computers, high-speed internet, professional and business mentoring, and other assistance in resources are provided.
